I woke up this morning..seemed mighty late, grab’d one sock, it was missing its mate! reach’d under the bed, try to find shoes..that’s when I got (what you call) the homewards blues/JOY! (I’m) going up to heaven..yeah, going to see my Saviour! death can’t stop me, Jesus paid it all for me, I’m-a going up to heaven..Troubles in this world never end ‘s how it seems, wear out the carpet getting down on my knees..just when the light comes, filling up the room, (that’s) when I check out, (and) I’m home real soon! yes I’m going up to heaven, going to see my Father..see all those faces, singing his praises, I’m a-going up to heaven. Old killer spider, he was hiding in my shoe, bit me on my finger, so, now, what’s left to do? Down on my knees again, ask the Lord for help..(He) said, “See you in a minute..” grab’d my buckler and belt, –gonna lead me up to heaven, “Help me, Holy Spirit”..carry me up yonder, nothing left to ponder, Yes! I’m going home to heaven..death lost its sting, eternity’s the thing, goin’ to heaven, –Twinkling of an eye! Thank you Jesus, praise your holy name! A-men.
